Since 2022, Mellösaverken has been active in the field of arts and crafts. We like to say that we didn't leave the city to isolate ourselves, we think the world should come to Mellösa. Within Mellösaverken Headspace, we offer space for artists to work for periods ranging from 10 days to 6 months. 

We do not require interaction from the visiting artists but offer the opportunity to get to know the local area and what it has to offer. This has resulted in a variety of social opportunities for both local people and colleagues to meet our resident artists. Most have come from Sweden, but we have also had artists from Ukraine, France, USA, Canada and Russia. 

The funding for this varies. Most of the costs in terms of labor are borne by Mellösaverken, as part of building this place. The artists have in turn been funded by IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Council, SWAN - Swedish Artists in Residency Network, Region Sörmland, Estrid Ericsons stiftelse and Konsthantverkscentrum.
