MELLÖSAVERKEN IS A SPACE FOR IDEAS, COMMUNITY AND FUTURE
Mellösaverken is a creative hub where people meet to explore, develop and share ideas. We offer space for both individual work and joint projects with room for art, crafts, workshops and social activities.
Our vision is to grow together with our local community, where residents, visitors and partners are an active part of the development. We want to build a place where everyone feels welcome to contribute to an open and empathetic society by allowing art in all its forms to stimulate conversation and interdisciplinary dialog.
Behind the initiative are us - Åsa Lockner and David Taylor - two artisans who have been running Mellösaverken in Mellösa, Sörmland, since 2016.
Åsa is a jewelry artist with a degree from Konstfack and has worked with contemporary jewelry art since 1999. Her work is characterized by a conceptual and experimental approach where recycled materials often play a central role.
David is a Scottish silversmith and designer, also educated at Konstfack. Based on function, sculpture and mass production, he creates works in simple materials with a clear and vital design language.
Together, we've transformed the old ruler factory into a place for artistic work and residencies, with studios, workshops and housing - an environment where artists and creatives can develop both individually and in community.
Mellösaverken - where opportunities become reality through collaboration.
