Mellösaverken offers premises with character and potential - robust spaces for visual artists, craftspeople, woodworkers and designers who are looking for more than just walls and ceilings. Here we offer:

If you want to stay in one of our premises and stay over, you have the opportunity to rent our furnished 1:a. There you live comfortably up to 3 people and cook your own food if desired. Even those who do not rent a room can contact you for overnight stays, but our artists have first refusal. Contact us with your request HERE, let us know both the number of people and which nights you are interested in and we will get back to you with a price.

In the immediate area there is a 24/7 and a café so you can come to us in Mellösa for a short period without preparing much. Even those who do not have access to a car can easily stay in Mellösaverken because bus 415 runs right outside. It takes you to Flen or Hälleforsnäs.

Since 2022, Mellösaverken has been active in the field of arts and crafts. We like to say that we didn't leave the big city to isolate ourselves, we think the world should come to Mellösa. Within Mellösaverken Headspace, we mainly offer space for artists to work for periods ranging from 10 days to 6 months. 

We do not require interaction from the visiting artists but offer the opportunity to get to know the local assets in the form of good premises and people. This has resulted in a variety of social opportunities for both local people and colleagues to meet these artists. Most of the artists have come from Sweden, but we have also had visitors from Ukraine, France, USA and Russia. 

The funding for this varies. Most of the costs in terms of labor are borne by Mellösaverken, as part of building this place. The artists have in turn been funded by IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Council, SWAN - Swedish Artists in Residency Network, Region Sörmland and the Estrid Ericson Foundation.
