
Andrei Pichakhchi
Andrei Pichakhchi is a Ukrainian artist born on May 4, 1958, in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He graduated from the Kharkiv Academy of Art and Design in 1979 and has been an active member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1990. Pichakhchi is also affiliated with the creative association "Liter A.
His artistic repertoire encompasses painting, conceptual installations, and literary works. Pichakhchi's creations often delve into themes of consciousness, memory, and urban landscapes, blending visual art with philosophical and literary elements. Notable projects include "Dream Shores and Dark Matter of Consciousness," "1000 Concepts," and "Walking Through the Night City." He has also explored yacht design as an adjacent creative endeavor.
Pichakhchi's work has been exhibited internationally, with showcases at venues such as the Zimmerli Art Museum in New Jersey, Kunsthaus Nuremberg in Germany, and various galleries across Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, and Greece. His pieces are part of collections in institutions like the Zimmerli Art Museum and Artothek Nuremberg, as well as in private collections throughout Europe and the United States.
In 2020, the Kharkiv Municipal Gallery hosted his exhibition "Jewel Painting," highlighting his ability to intertwine visual art with metasensory and philosophical narratives. Pichakhchi has received several accolades, including an art fellowship from Künstlerdorf Schöppingen and the President's Award for Literary Excellence from the National Authors Registry in the USA.
